Clarke Family Nursing Scholarship - Nursing
Purpose:
Do stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs and scrubs represent your ideal wardrobe? The Clarke Family Nursing Scholarship was established in 2011 in memory of Ione Huff Clarke. This fund is a tribute to her life in nursing and in the Gwinnett community. The estate of Elmer and Ione Clark, through their sons James, Gary and David, funds this scholarship.
Recognizing the difficulties many students face when trying to finance their education, the Clarke Family Nursing Scholarship Fund is endowed at Gwinnett Tech and provides scholarships to deserving first and second year nursing students who have distinguished themselves and have demonstrated financial need to help cover their college expenses including tuition, books and program supplies
Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible for the Clarke Family Nursing Scholarship, a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have been fully accepted into the Nursing degree program, and
- Have minimum 3.0 GPA.
Please note that Fall awards are given priority to second year Nursing Degree Program students and Spring awards to first year Nursing Degree Program students.
Applications cannot be processed unless all required documentation is attached to the application at time of submittal.
Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, books, and program supplies used solely for the benefit of the individual receiving the scholarship. Before funds will be disbursed, the Foundation office must receive a note of thanks from the recipient to the donor(s).
Selection:
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients.
Termination:
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the donor’s account to be carried over to the next semester.
