Blanche Ellington Chambless Memorial Scholarship

Purpose:
Provide a scholarship(s) annually to a student(s) who meets the eligibility requirements below.

Eligibility Requirements:
Gwinnett Tech students may apply for this scholarship if they:

• Be in good standing with Gwinnett Technical College
• Enrolled in the Early Childhood Care and Education Program at Gwinnett Technical College
• Minimum GPA: 2.5 or higher
• Preference will be given to applicants who may have a financial need or overcome a major obstacle in their lives.
• Applicants must submit a 300-word essay explaining how this scholarship will positively impact their pursuit of a Trade degree.

Essay Prompt:
“Describe how receiving the Blanche Chambless Memorial Scholarship will contribute to your academic and professional journey in Early Childhood Care and Education. Highlight any financial challenges or how you’ve overcome a major obstacle and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.”

Selection: The Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select and notify the scholarship recipient based on application scores submitted by a Review Committee.

Termination:
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the Donor’s account and carried over to the next offering.
