Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association Foundation, Inc. Veterans Scholarship

*Purpose:
The A WBA Foundation Veterans Scholarship Program was created as a way for Vietnam Veterans to help the next generation of veterans by assisting in their education, so they can better support their families and make a positive contribution to society in general. As Vietnam Veterans, this Scholarship Program is our way to “Welcome Home” our military men and women. We refer to this program as … " one generation of Veterans helping the next". We believe this program is our “Legacy” to today’s Military, from Vietnam Veterans who came home from a very unpopular war and got on with their lives. We hope that each generation of Veterans will follow our example and help the “next generation” of American military patriots that have served or are serving our country.
*Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association Foundation, Inc. Veterans Scholarship, a student must:
• Have been admitted into a program of study at Gwinnett Technical College

• Have served in, or be serving honorably in, the United States Armed Forces. If they are currently serving, they must provide an Active-Duty Military ID, or if they are no longer on active duty, they must provide a DD-214 showing that they were honorably discharged.

• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

• Submit a 300-word essay on how the requested funding will enable you to complete the program. Include any additional information or factors, such as financial or personal circumstances, that you believe should be considered by the committee reviewing your application.

Applications cannot be processed unless all required documentation is attached to the application at the time of submittal.
Selection/Introduction:
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation Review Committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients. A WBA Foundation Scholarship Chairman will be notified of Scholarship recipient, and He/She would agree to meet AWBA Members (in-person or by Zoom) to discuss the value of the Scholarship.
Termination:
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the
Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in
the Donor’s account carried over to the next semester.
