Sharon J. Bartels Scholarship

Are you pursuing your dream career, but need help paying for the education to get it? Do you have an unusual financial situation that is holding you back from completing college?

Each semester, the Sharon J. Bartels Endowment Fund presents $500 to GTC students who are in need of financial assistance to pay for tuition, books and program supplies.

The scholarship was established in 2014 to honor the legacy of retired Gwinnett Tech president, Sharon J. Bartels, and her service to the college.

Gwinnet Tech students may apply for this scholarship if you:
• Are enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program
• Have a minimum 2.5 GPA

To apply, submit an essay of approximately 300-words (typed and double-spaced) that:
• Explains how your degree of study will benefit you in your educational pursuits
• Shares your academic goals and career plans
• Includes other information (like unusual financial or personal strife) you feel the Selection Committee should know about.

If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Brookshaw in the Foundation Office at or (678) 226-6263.
