Barbara T. King Scholarship for Women
In order to qualify for the Barbara T. King scholarship provided by The Primerica Foundation, a student must:
- Be a female;
- Have been admitted into an associate degree program at Gwinnett Technical College in the field of Health Sciences, or Nursing and Life Sciences
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
- Submit an essay of 300 words (typed and double‐spaced) that explains how your degree of study will benefit you in your educational and career pursuits in a Health Science or Nursing and Life Sciences field. Please also share your academic goals and career plans, please Include other relevant information (such as unusual financial or personal circumstances) which you feel are important for the Selection Committee to consider in its evaluation. Essay must be submitted on the applicants General Application
- Be able to attend the Spring Scholarship Celebration in April
Applications cannot be processed unless all required documentation is attached to the application at time of submittal.
Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, books, and program supplies used solely for the benefit of the individual receiving the scholarship. Before funds will be disbursed, the Foundation office must receive a note of thanks from the recipient to the donor(s).
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients.
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the donor’s account to be carried over to the next semester.
