Assistance League of Atlanta Scholarship
Since its inception, Links to Education has provided scholarships to deserving college students pursuing post-secondary education at six Georgia institutions of higher learning, including Gwinnett Technical College.
In order to be eligible for the Assistance League of Atlanta Scholarship, a student must:
- Be accepted into Gwinnett Technical College
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Submit an essay of approximately 300 words that: 1) Shows your willingness and record of service to the community – past and present, 2) Explains how your degree of study will benefit you in your educational pursuits, and 3) Shares your academic goals and career plans, and includes other personal or financial information you feel the Selection Committee should know about you.
Applications cannot be processed unless all required documentation is attached to the application at time of submittal.
Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, books, and program supplies used solely for the benefit of the individual receiving the scholarship. Funds from this scholarship cannot be used towards the purchase of laptops. Before funds will be disbursed, the Foundation office must receive a note of thanks from the recipient to the donor(s).
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients.
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the donor’s account to be carried over to the next semester.
