American Gas Association Scholarship
The American Gas Association (AGA) was founded in 1918 and represents more than 200 local energy companies that deliver clean natural gas throughout the United States. The AGA Scholarship was created in 2013 to provide support to students seeking a career in trade jobs that are in high demand in the natural gas industry.
In order to be eligible for an American Gas Association Scholarship, a student must:
- Must currently be enrolled in one of the following certificate, diploma, or degree programs: Air Conditioning Maintenance Technician, Air Conditioning Electrical Technician, Electrical Systems Technology, Basic Residential Air Conditioning System Design, Refrigerated System Service Technician, or Welding & Joining Technology.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.8
Applications cannot be processed unless all required documentation is attached to the application at time of submittal.
Scholarship funds shall be used for tuition, books, and program supplies solely for the benefit of the scholarship recipient. Before funds will be disbursed, the Foundation office must receive a note of thanks from the recipient to the donor.
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients.
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the donor’s account to be carried over to the next semester.
