Hudgens Award

Did you graduate from high school within the last year and missed out on the HOPE Scholaship, but are ready, willing and able to tackle your college studies?

The late D. Scott Hudgens, Jr. understood the role private support plays in helping students succeed and further their education. In 1997, he established the Hudgens Award to bridge the funding gap for Gwinnett-area high school graduates who don’t receive the HOPE Scholarship.

The Hudgens Award may be spread out over three consecutive semesters to help Gwinnett Tech students pay for college expenses including tuition, books and program supplies.

To date, more than 180 students have been able to start their college studies thanks to Mr. Hudgens’ legacy!

Gwinnett Tech students can apply for this scholarship if you:
• Are a graduate of the Gwinnett County Public High School System or Buford High School,
• Seek a degree or are currently enrolled in a degree program, or healthcare science certificate;
• Graduated from high school within the past year, and
• Are ineligible for the HOPE Scholarship
