Mountain Shadow Garden Club Environmental Horticulture Scholarship

Do you ever wish your green thumb could grow a cash crop to help you pay for a Horticulture degree?

In 2010, The Mountain Shadow Garden Club established a scholarship that would encourage students living in Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties to seek a skilled trade in horticulture.

This scholarship helps GTC students with college expenses as they pursue a degree in Horticulture. Several GTC students have flourished in their academic growth thanks to this scholarship award!

GTC students can apply for this scholarship if you:
• Are a resident of Dekalb or Gwinnett County,
• Have earned a total of 15 credit hours of Essential Technical (EHO) Courses in the Horticulture degree program, and
• Have maintained a 3.0 GPA.

To apply, submit an essay of approximately 300 words (typed and double-spaced) that explains how this scholarship will benefit you in your educational pursuits.

Your application must also include two written recommendations, with one of the two from a Horticulture Program faculty member.

If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Brookshaw in the Foundation Office at sbrookshaw@gwinnetttech.edu or (678) 226-6263.
