Michael Liberty and Charles Tyree (“The Liberty Tyree Automotive Scholarship”)

Michael Liberty and Charles Tyree were two Great men who had wonderful talents and abilities regarding repairing vehicles. Due to their love and passion of the automotive industry, they would repair a car for an individual even if one did not have the funds at the time to pay, but needed their car repaired. They both were very well skilled at repairing anything that needed to be fixed, and especially Michael, as he was a hands on type of person and could work miracles. Michael’s profession of being a Mechanic, began from the time he was a teenager and he enjoyed reading a lot of magazines, especially ones related to cars. Mentoring young men about mechanics of a car was a favorite past time that both men thoroughly enjoyed, as it was an area of their life they wanted to shared with young males. Charles was a very outgoing person that like to play practical jokes on people and love to try anything. But, being a great mechanic was his specialty, as he could diagnose any automotive problem and issue along with being very good with electrical problems on vehicles. His profession in addition to being a Mechanic, was a Truck Driver, which he took pride in as well. On Charles’s spare and leisure time, he rode motorcycles and a 4 wheeler vehicle. Both gentlmen had a love for barbecuing and had good hearts, always laughing, smiling and overall caring individuals. Michael and Charles have greatly been missed by their family and friends.

In memory of the two well-loved gentlemen, a yearly Scholarship has been established and dedicated to honor them in their name for their amazing skill set and love of Automotive beginning in 2018 for students enrolled in the Automotive Technology program, as they always had compassion to assist anyone that needed assistance with their vehicles.
