Derwin “Chef DJ” Memorial Scholarship - Culinary

• Purpose:
  The Derwin “Chef DJ” Memorial Scholarship would like to offer a scholarship to a culinary arts student who is pursing a degree at Gwinnett Technical College.

Eligibility Requirements:

• The student must explain why they are passionate about the culinary arts field and what their career aspirations are upon graduation in a 300 word essay.
• Open to newly enrolled and current students in the 2-year culinary degree program, with special emphasis given to those that are on the verge of dropping out due to financial hardship.
  *All required documents must be submitted along with the application.

Scholarship funds shall be used for tuition, books, fees, uniforms, knife kits/bags, school supplies, etc. solely for the benefit of the scholarship recipient. Before funds will be disbursed, the Foundation office must receive a note of thanks from the recipient to the donor.

Selection:
The Gwinnett Tech Foundation committee will select and notify the scholarship recipients.

Termination:
If the recipient fails to enroll, withdraws from college, or does not maintain eligibility requirements, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation will select another student if time permits; otherwise, funds will be held in the donor’s account to be carried over to the next semester.
